Happy Durga Puja! 🙏✨🌸

May Maa Durga remove all obstacles from your life and fill it with peace, prosperity, and joy.

Durga Puja is one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in India, especially in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tripura, and other parts of the country. It is a festival that symbolizes the victory of good over evil and honors Goddess Durga, who is worshipped as the embodiment of power, courage, and motherhood.

The festival usually falls in the month of September or October, during the period of Navratri. According to mythology, Durga Puja commemorates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura. The story represents the eternal message that truth and virtue always prevail over falsehood and wickedness.

Durga Puja is not just a religious occasion; it is also a grand cultural event. For five days—Shashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami—people immerse themselves in devotion, festivities, and joy. Beautifully crafted idols of Maa Durga are installed in elaborately decorated pandals. Devotees offer prayers, perform rituals, and participate in cultural programs, music, and dance. The evenings are filled with the sounds of dhak (traditional drums), chanting of mantras, and the fragrance of incense.

The festival also brings people together. Families and friends visit pandals, exchange greetings, and enjoy traditional foods and sweets. On the last day, Vijayadashami or Dussehra, the idols of Goddess Durga are immersed in rivers or lakes, symbolizing her return to Mount Kailash. This day also signifies the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, making it a festival of multiple meanings across India.
