Happy Gandhi Jayanti
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year on 2nd October to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. It is a national holiday in India and a day of remembrance and tribute to one of the greatest leaders in Indian and world history.
Mahatma Gandhi, also known as Bapu, was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat. He led India’s struggle for independence from British rule through non-violent movements like Satyagraha, Non-Cooperation Movement, and the Quit India Movement. His principles of truth (Satya) and non-violence (Ahimsa) inspired millions in India and across the world.

Gandhi Jayanti is observed with great respect and simplicity. Schools, colleges, and government institutions hold special events like speeches, essay competitions, and prayer meetings. People remember Gandhi’s values and try to follow his teachings in their daily lives.
The day is also celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence, as declared by the United Nations in 2007, highlighting Gandhi’s impact on global peace and civil rights movements.

On this day, many visit Raj Ghat in New Delhi, where Gandhi was cremated, to offer flowers and pay homage. His life continues to inspire people to live with honesty, simplicity, and courage.
In conclusion, Gandhi Jayanti is not just a day to remember a great leader but also a time to reflect on his ideals and apply them in today’s world for a better and more peaceful society.
